This area is classified as an agricultural and environmental tourism zone in the year 2014. The plains are a 400 meter long and 40 mtr wide area being its core area and is home to sambur, deer and from time to time leopards too. The main attraction of the plains aptly referred to as moon plains is the mini worlds end offering you a 360 degree view  Just past the government potato seed farm and not far from Nuwara Eliya this area makes for a great drive through on your way to Horton plains. The plains are open from 8am to 5pm.
